    Ideal postworkout carbs ?

I finish my workout at 9.30pm and will have 40g of whey protein and 80g dextrose. The problem is That I am looking to drop the dex for a substitute. If I finish at 9.30pm and then by time I drive home it will be roughly 10pm and will have steak and brown rice and then before bed at 11.30pm I will have my cottage cheese and almonds. Is it a MUST to have fast acting carbs after your workout and if so what should I take or will I have enough time to wait and have my meal at home ?

A fruit or two along with a whey shake and your good to go.

There is absolutely no need for a high gi carb pwo.
