freezing injection site, prior to jabbing ???

But would it help to take a cold pack and numb the area of injection like for 10 mins prior to injection.

If the area is numb u won't feel pain when shooting right???

after that take a nice hot shower and massage the damn area?

i just remember when i got a cortisone shot in my hip, the doc at hospital put a freezing agent on the site before he jabbed it and the needle was in me for over 5mins, didn't feel shit.

Well once the needle is in, you dont feel anything anyways. so whether its in for 5 minutes or 25 minutes theres no difference in pain, its just the innitial little pinch. Honestly I was scared at first but its really not that bad.

My first injection i slowly put the pin agains my glute and i didnt even MEAN to press it in yet and it just slid in like a knife through butter lol. Not that bad bro.

But to answer your question ya im sure you could do that.

heating the site w/ a heating pad would prob help more than freezing it, that would just make the needle harder to get into the muscle...injections dont really hurt that much man, if its that bad for you its prob mostly mental

stop being a bitch man. seriously, if you can't handle the pain from a shot, you really think you can handle the kind of workouts needed to get any benefit from those shots??? i'd rather do 100 consecutive shots than leg day.

just go with a pin with a gauge of 25 and you'll hardly feel anything. there are times when i literally don't feel anything when i put it in. just go in quick and smooth. don't slowly push it in, being all cautious. that's when you'll feel it more. i'm not saying stab it in as fast as you can, but just nice and smooth. should have the pin all the way in in under a second.

no way,after you inject then press against the site with a cotton ball with alcohol , after 8 min you start massaging, massaging has helped me a whole lot.
ive done it both ways.

Yeah just make sure u go slow and the site is clean its not all that bad but u gotta make sure u take ur time and do go slow especially in the shoulders and quads. The glutes are probably the easiest to shoot, at least for me ne way and theres hardly ne blood when i get done most of the time when I inject.

Great job bor, was thinking the exact same thing while reading higher up on the thread (Only wat thinking about being punched in the face rather than a soccer ball.) Dude the pain is all in your head! if you are deliberate with the pin, you won't even feel much of a pinch. I also agree with the massage thing, I always give it a few minutes to close up and then a nice slow deep area massage and it cuts down on sorness, big time. If it is in fact a gym myth, the idea of it must really help mentally. Another great tip that a friend gave me was after filling the syrenge, put the cap on the pin as not to contaminate it, and run warm water over it to thin up the oil. THis works great and also seems to cut down on the sorness the next day.

So suck it up, and let the metal hit the meat! YAHOO!

Def. massage the area. If you have ever had any steroid injections from the doc (and I have had a couple) he sits there and massages the hell out of it right after he injects for about 5 min. If you think that worsens the chances of getting infection I wonder what you do when you get a brush burn. Is there a real life bubble boy?
