letro is a cancer drug for women to lower estrogen... i could help women but to what level i dont know. read the profile

My mom is prescribed Femera for breast cancer, and she tells me that she basically gets the exact opposite effects of what a guy would get while taking it, namely bloating.
Keep in mind, my mom is a 54 yr old woman, but those are my 2 cents. Before you read the steroid profile and use that to decide whether or not to use it, read something from the company that manufactures it, like the prescription insert or something, because that would give you the most accurate idea of what benefits/side effects another woman would face.
Femara is a drug that blocks the process of aromatisation, and so reduces the amount of oestrogen in the body. Drugs that work in this way are known as aromatase inhibitors. Other aromatase inhibitors include Arimidex® (anastrozole) and Aromasin® (exemestane).
OK -- where to start. First this means you are ****ing w/ the natural hormone levels in the person's body. The effects are dramatic when guys shut off their natural hormone levels -- you hear all the stories about the mood swings, depression while waiting for PCT to get things back to normal. So now you go w/ the women's side of things. Estrogen / progesterone are what keep women "women". But hormones in general are what make us up -- our moods, our health, our feelings of well-being or not, etc. When these are thrown off, its just not good. I don't think doctors know enough about EVERYTHING that hormones affect to be able to selectively control the things they affect. So when you try to do use hormone manipulation (much less self-medicate), you can't do it selectively. Women don't like the water weight, the bodyfat, etc that comes w/ estrogen. But if you think you can use an anti-e to stop that, then you have to deal w/ all the other effects - the extreme case is that you are inducing menopause. Osteoporosis is a very big side effect of that.
Now lets look at who does use anti-e's among women --- as far as I've seen & heard ONLY well-experienced physique competitors. You know what that means? First their diets & training are already well-established and extremely optimized for the goal. But the bigger thing is that the goal is to look a certain way at a certain time of day on COMPETITION DAY. And then, you fully expect to rebound when you come out of the diet, the training and the drugs.
That is by far the single most important thing to know about women and hormones. You can use drugs to force a certain effect for a while, but its not a good thing to turn off the basic hormones that make up who you are just because you want to drop water ??? But as soon as you come off, expect your natural estrogen production to start up and you blow up 20 lb of water weight in 2 weeks. I.e. thigns will swing back further than where yousstarted and then eventually try to settle back into a point of equilibrium.
Aside from the medical aspects of turning off your natural estrogen production (like I said, in the extreme you are talking about inducing menopause):
- anti-e's will dry out your joints ---> joint problems
- anti-e's will turn off your period and also make your hormonal birth control not work -- but here's the thing - even if your period is stopped you may or may not still get the cramps, mood swings, etc., and you can still be ovulating so your b/c is useless but you can still become pregnant.
I ****REALLY**** would NOT recommend telling someone to use self-medicated hormone therapy to do something as selective as water weight loss. The consequences are not worth it and the chick will rebound anyway as soon as she comes off and its absolutely unhealthy to stay on for extended periods of time.
Not meaning a slam to you guys - but guys giving hormone therapy recommendations to women is just the worst thing on the planet. The use of steroids and anti-es have COMPLETELY different effects on women. And the recommendations usually come in response to a girlfriend / wife or female friend whining about her weight. Here's someone who wouldnt' be whining about weight if they were actively and informedly optimizing a diet & training program to address their goals. So they arent' doing the easy, basic stuff and may or may not even do it if they knew the basics. But they would immediately consider a hormone therapy that is a controlled substance and probably purchased off the internet.... (duh)....
So no, don't tell the girl to use letro to lose weight. Tell her to clean up her diet, eat enough and lift some ****ing weight.
hard work = hard bod
