Would it be beneficial to only drink protein shakes all day (multi's and other vitamins too), and then have a good meal at night? Keep in mind, the protein shake macros/content would reflect whatever the goals one had in mind (bulking or cutting)...

The fact is though that protein is protein , the only real issue to consider is the absorption rate. with whey protein the rate of absorption is known to be very fast and this is why most advocate its use mainly as post work out nutrition.
if you want to use shakes heavily , consider buying a casein / whey mixture in the ration 80/20 that profile makes for a much more stable release of amino acids, more akin to more regular forms.
untill now, i drink 5 shakes whey per day and only 2 meals
believe me
others in this forum critiqued me severly

Though you are right and a lot of parrots will say solid food all day etc...butOriginally Posted by HardBastard

Well I have and I know solid food works much better. When I rely on shakes as meals Im starving btwn meals. I HATE the starvaton feeling. Makes me feel all catabolic and I gotta eat somethin.
Just a thought..
I would agree, I only take Whey PWO.Originally Posted by chest6

I'd suggest just stick with your 7 shakes, you're gonna get HUGE!
imo realistically if you wanted to live off whey protein shakes you could and grow well. it would entail at least 12 shakes with oats , vitamin supplement powder, and a mixture of whole/semiskimmed milk probably whole + flax seed oil per day and you would need a proper meat /fish etc meal before bed , and plenty of fibre from fruits and vegetables.
you could cut down the numbers if you introduced casein into the equation.
IMO you realistically could not. i've never grown off shakes, only food. i think whey is highly overrated and utilized too much by people. i GURANTEE you'll see better results with whole foods.

I prefer real food, keep you satisfied, makes your body busy and you are taking other things other than proteins....You know, foods are not just pro, carb fats!
No I'm sure 2scoops of whey protein is just as beneficial as 8ounces of meat.
LOL
ROFL....and you thought it was obvious? Guess not.
