this one is directed to dr sust ....
I hurt my right shoulder 10 weeks ago doing incline bench.
The pain seems to be most specific in the front of the shoulder, however I can feel pain down my bicep, and if I attempt any pressing movement, I can also feel it in my tricep. In fact, my entire shoulder area feels incredibly "tight" whenever I attempt to test it out (even with ZERO weight on the bar). The referred pain in my bicep is there all the time, but does not seem to be affecting my curling. The pain is not intense, but it is serious enough to prevent me from adding any significant weight to the bar to press.
I have had a really good masseur have a look at it and she reckons the injury is within the insertion point of the front deltoid, and the pain in the bicep is due to inflammation in the same region. She advised me to continue to attempt to work around the injury - I have been doing heaps of cables for chest and raises for shoulders (avoiding all presses) but there has been no progress for 10 weeks.
I'm at the point where I think I need to rest the injury completely. I would appreciate your opinion. Maybe I could spend one month concentrating only on legs and cardio???? Not being able to do any presses is annoying the crap out of me.
