Don't know jack about the nasty gaurd. I can tell you you can't do shit in Marine Corps boot camp. You have to ask permission to scratch your ass.

I picked mine... well, I picked the occupation - they picked the specialty. You need to find a more reasonable recuriter or start acting more reluctant so they start giving you things. Get out now and get yo butt in the Corps!

J/K... have fun dude, it's a lifetime memory after it is over... Whhhhoah - see ya in the Desert - lots of National Guard coming over here

I was active duty Marine, my wife's bro is Nasty Guard. Basically the same thing without as bad of mental mind games and not quite so phyiscal. But still can't have crap. No sups, you will never see a gym and unless your a skinny kid there is almost no way you will bulk up. Not to mention 3 square a day not a scrap more. Im willing to bet you will lose a good 10-20lbs with all the running and cardio you do. Good luck though.

National guard guys go to the same boot camp as active duty. So you'll at least be getting the same standard of training. No way can bring any supplements with you. If you manage to get access to a good chow hall, you'll only have a few minutes to wolf down your food. You will be getting like 4-5 hours of sleep a night, on average, you'll probably get sick the first month you are there because of all the dirty bastards you'll be living with.

Dude, it sucks and then it's over. and as a Nasty Girl (natl guard) you can go home and gorge all day and sleep whenever you aren't eating as soon as boot camp is over. Boot camp really isn't all that bad.

upon entry to the meps station you are subject to have all your possessions searched. definitely upon arrival at basic your drill instructor will have the contents of your personal gear all over the floor for contraband .you will not be allowed to have any supps or meds unless approved my the base physicians. dont bring any thing just do what you are told try your best and keep your head down. good luck.

you will probaly drop a good 10 pounds, but on the flip side with all the push ups and running you are going to be doing you should be able to cut up, so if you have any BF you will lose alot of it. good luck, what is MOS going to be?

BTW no one really says this, its just some general answear to dip shit full birds or 1 stars that come to visit you and ask "How's every body doing today?" Followed by "Is everyone tired I cant hear you!, Hows everyone doing to day!"

I just evaluated a National Guard Battalion heading over to Iraq-all in all good soldiers. A lot of them are cops and firefighters so what they lack in experience as far as military deployment they make up in other "real world" experiences. Just arrive at boot camp with a good attitude and you'll be fine, any size you lose you can get back-good luck, Godspeed.

my wife would sneak in supplements while I was at Basic (Army). she would get Oxy-Clean, empty it out and then put the supps in there (In a zip-lock bag) then she would put in the Oxy-Clean back, crazy glue the seal and put the cap back on. The DS never found out. they just wondered why I got a lot of Oxy-Clean though. HOOAH!!!

Ginko is right, national guard goes through the same training as active duty. You'll def lose weight/size. You eat at most 3x/day and you aren't given more than a few minutes. Not to mention the food selection is shit, the eggs will give you the worst gas ever. Fvck the supplements for 10 weeks, or whatever it is. Once your out of basic, you'll have all the opportunity to gain it back at the chow hall, all you cna eat!!

Marine Corps boot camp was the most fun i ever had , however you wont realize it until you leave. i actually just finished six years in the corps and signed a six year contract with the national guard. 90% of the soliders i've met so far are former marines. just have fun with it concentarte on what your doing and have a good time. you'll have more fun at ITB cause all you do is shoot weapons for six weeks. good luck. oorah/hooah

When I went to basic (AF), I wasn't impressed with the food. A lot of greasy shit, def no steak and shrimp. I remember they had chicken wings a lot which I avoided because it took to long to eat. I did get pretty creative though makin sandwiches out of pankaces, sausages, bacon and anything else that would cut back on time.

Honestly, I don't think I can remember a single meal. I was too busy shoveling in what I could before somebody got us kicked out - which was easy to do! Left-hand-left-knee, right-hand has the fork, don't look up and just eat... once someone started looking around - GET OUT, EVERYONE UP AND OUT! I hated that... even in line waiting for some chow, one guy looked off to the side at an evergreen - he was caught and forced to go embrace his new lover and tell 'er how much she meant to him!

Some guys try and sneak food out - like the little peanut butter packs and even big things like oranges - don't do that. They'll find it and you and everyone else will pay for it... it ain't worth the hassel and extra time in the dirt burning more calories anyway...

I don't want to scare ya but I went from a good 209 down to 179... 30 pounds in 13 weeks. They want everyone to graduate looking the same. Its no big deal though; you are trimmed down and can get the weight back - once you have reached a certain level of muscular development or strength... it's easier to get it back than if never had it at all.
    Have fun!

There's a purpose to all of the stupid shvt they do. It's all about discipline, military baring, transition from civilian to soldier/airmen/marine, attention to detail, ect. Seems stupid at the time, but you'd be surprised by what they can do to Joe Civilian in a few weeks.
