    Cablevision Customers

I'm not sure who here has cable vision but they are finally adding 2 highly requested channels. National Geographic HD and Discovery HD.

    National Geographic Channel HD 726.
Bronx and Long Island on 3/20
New Jersey, Haverstraw and Monroe 3/21
    Brooklyn, Westchester and CT 3/22.

    Discovery HD Theater Channel 727
Bronx and Long Island on 3/20
New Jersey, Haverstraw and Monroe 3/21
    Brooklyn, Westchester and CT 3/22

I have called, written letters, and signed petitions to get these channels for over a year. FINALLY!

Man I want FIOS SOOOOOOOOOOO BAD!!!!! But they're not in Brooklyn yet. I called Verizon and they said they will start rolling out Brooklyn the end of this year which probably means summer 2008.

I read today that Cablevision owns Voom HD. Why the hell we don't have Voom HD channels I don't know. That's an additional 15 HD channels we could have. Cablevision is supposed to launch CNN HD, Food TV HD and HGTV HD in September.

    - TBS HD
    - SciFi HD
    - MGM Movie Channel HD
    - FX HD
    - USA HD
    - Speed HD
    - Cartoon Network HD

All will launch late this year. I'm not sure if Cablevision will carry them or not.

Nature shows really shows off the image quality of high definition. All of the colors and detail you see. When I go to high end home theater shows they're always showing Discovery HD or National Geographic on all of their big screens.

Absolutly. Whenever I have guests, I make sure to "accidently" flip to Discovery HD to show off the big screen. Now I just need to pay off that TV, damn I'm gonna be poor for a while.

What TV do you have? I have a Sony 40XBR1. I've had it around 8 months. I'm ready to sell it and upgrade to a 46XBR3.

I'm glad they're adding the channels. The only time cablevision gets off the pot and makes a move is when their competition does. DirectTV announced they will add 100 new HD channels. Now cablevision after years of requests decides to sign an agreement with Discovery.

Very nice. I like LCDs. If I move soon I'll keep my 40" for my bedroom and probably buy a 52" XBR2 for the living room. If I stay where I am now with my roommates the largest I can fit in my bedroom is a 46" LCD.

Mine is a DLP. My roommate and I bought it last May and we don't have to pay for 12 months. Well, May is coming up soon so we have to pay for it $2300 Canadian after tax with a nice stand.

We wanted to get an LCD, but the price/quality was too much for us, so we took the DLP, great picture and less price, but it does stick out in the back, so it is staying in the living room.

I live in NYC so space costs $$$. I got a LCD because it takes up less room.
