Powerlifting Vs. Bodybuilding can u do both at same time..... Ok we had this huge debate at my gym last night.. some guys that I been trainning tell me they are down trainning for powerlifting and they want to bodybuild... No I been lifting for 20 yrs I have compete in both and I have an elite total.. I have squated 850 at 242,,,,... 800 at 220lbs benched 550 at 220lbs deadlifted 645 at 220lbs... I want to have some guys to train with...(they are the only guys that I can train with) So I told them I would do it with them aslong as I did do a all out West Side style day on squats.. along with there leg workouts... On the first leg day we did somthing like 10 sets of leg press ( I tried to at least double there reps every set) so I was doing like 1500 for 20 reps.. then On deep squats I did 405 for 15 deep /Tom Platz style squats.... any way... I been makingthem bust ass...!!! and they tell me Im traininning them to hard... taht they cant recover and they will get small... On back day I started them out with one all out set of deadlifts... I did 405 for 15 reps... then we did all the Bodybuilding stuff... I have had fun trainning these guys.... but do u think I can compete at both???? I mean... putting on lean muscle and cutting fat can only help.. I know like 12 weeks out Ill have to specilize... just focus on one thing/.... what do u all think??? I also thought about doing a strong man contest also.. ....anyway... can u off season train powerlifting and bodybuilding together????
