    Chiropractors?

I dont have any problems with my back, it does hurt every so often though, I do alot of heavy lifting at the gym, and I lift some really heavy awkward objects at work, do you think it would be a good idea to make regular visits to the Chiropractor, just to keep everyting in line?? I dont have to pay for it I am covered, so iIfigured why NOT go. Opinions.

I have noticed i pop and crack alot just rolling over in bed. I have no pain whatsoever when this happens, just seems it has increased lately.

I am wondering if going to a Chiropractor would resolve this?

Allmost all professional athletes have chiropractic care and massage therapists on hand at all times. If you can afford it, don't hesitate.

I work in the medical imaging field, so my opinion might be biased, but I have seen the damage the Chiro causes.
    1) Herniated disc's
    2) Carotid artey dissection
    3) Permanent nerve damage
    4) Straightening of the spine( Lossing the normal curves )

The Chrio's have their own imaging equipment and they read their own images. For my money... I would rather have a neuro-radiologist trained to read images and schooled for 13+yrs take a look a my pictures Vs. the 4-6yr Chiro degree.

It may be free...but so is a kick in the balls. Fork out the cash for a real doctor. Chiro's are quacks!

i agree to an extent. they can hurt you. but they can also adjust you and relieve pain and stress. ive experienced both. as for neurologist...ive dealt with them as well. they do no adjusting. they ask if there is pain, have you walk, check for pinched nerves, get a MRI and decide whether to cut you open or not. no matter what their decision, its still a ****in penny just to talk with them.

as far as i understand, chiros take 8 years sometimes 9 (according to the last on i visited)

my advice, see a respected chiro and get adjusted. if the problem remains go to a neuro.

if youve ever read a pamphlet from a chiro's office its the funniest thing. its like something from a witch doctor. they pretty much claim that regular visits will cure everything. they even have ones that say you should bring them your child and dog.

When you sleep do you sleep on your side with your arm above your head?

My shoulder's were really bothering me until I changed the way I was sleeping they have been much better since, without the pain when lifting or training.

This is VERY true, sleeping with your arms under your pillow and above your head is HORRIBLE for your shoulders, I used to sleep like that all the time and my shoulder would absolutely kill me all day long, I no longer sleep like that and my shoulder never bugs me, it takes some time getting used to but it makes a hell of a difference.

I am deffinetly going to go see a chiropractor, I used to go when I was younger (I had a couple of BAD accidents when I was younger) and I always left the office feeling great, almost like pressure was released. I would go to the same guy I used to go to he was great he did alot of sports player and hes been around for a long time.

i have had injuries to my back and shoulder, and knees..

a chiro that can use an actuator is the one that works for me.. usually in 2-3 visits at the most, and the sooner i get in the quicker i recover..

my wife will take 5-6 for the same pain, so everyone is a little different..

    good luck..

I hate them i went to see 8 of them they all said they could get me better they all got me worst, i just hate them they are based around marketing, and the worst is that its working good because there clinic are packed.

I wont start a rant here but i dont beleive in chiropratic, most of the time a subluxation is caused by something else, tendon, ligament laxity or else and the chiro can only pop a vertebrae back in place many times.

The more you get adjusted and more laxity your ligament suffers and the worst your pain will be.

Thanks to them i got a snapping hip joint that is being fixed with the rest of my pain with prolotherapy, now that is the real thing prolo will fix you not put a band aid like chiro that gets you pain free for a day or 2

Could not have said it better myself and you know what most of them don't even know how to take x rays and worst how to read them.
