    The claw hand....

Hey anyone have the problem when they go heavy deadlifting with slow reps that when there done sometimes they have problems opening their hands...

I like rip the skin off my hands and get the claw hand for a couple seconds... almost like my hands are painfully pumped up =P any ideas on how to get rid of this?

    Over my head???

I know you probably dont, but use straps......

Alot of guys esp Pl's dont because they cant use em at a meet, but I dont see why you cant use em and then work on a less intense form of grip strenght exercises.........

Id rather dl and use a weight that taxes the back/hams with straps then some 1/2 assed weight that only makes my grip give out........

In fact ill go out on a limb and say your manhood is not at steak with wrist straps.

i must have missed something in this thread, but the one thing i have always done for grip is tons of chalk, I use more chalk than a gymnast, and after 5 years of deads my skin doesn't come off anymore i have callouses hard as a rock.

I was exaggerating about the skin coming off and my grip is pretty strong... I think your right though.... I need to start using maybe straps and start pinching plates or doing some other grip training until I get to the point where my hands dont get that mangled

train your grip but dont use straps, the straps will just make your grip even weaker because you wont be using any forearms than! straps are like training wheels, you dont need them once you are a seasoned deadlifter, hell i never used them unless i was doing shrugs. if your a deadlifting for bbing, than straps are fine, but if you are doing this for strength or powerifting, dont even think about using them
