The pain you hear of is likely post-injection soreness.
For this type of pain, lidocaine will be ineffective as it is only effective for an extremely short time following injection...post-injection soreness can occur from 12-72 hours following an injection, sometimes longer. Lidocaine will do you no good.

If you're having post-inj. soreness from prop, that's understandable...the rest depends on the mfg'er of the gear, ratio of solvents in your gear, how well it's been filtered, and gear to mL ratio as well...
What compound is it that is giving you issues? What is it dosed at? How much are you shooting per inj.?
