Suprizing thing I found out today...

I thought I cuuld be no more than 8% body fat because I eat so healthy and I look like a pencil to be honest at 130lbs and guess what? I am 16% body fat, it blows my mind because I don't see it.

Can anyone explain body fat to me? (This is related to my diet so I hope this is the right section in the forums, thanks people!)

You can do a search on google about it. Its the % of fat to lean mussel mass. How did you find out that yours was 16%? Was it at a doctors office or at the gym or just an internet sight?

Well, if you don't eat you can't build muscle to burn the fat so your body is storing anything and everything it can as fat for survival.

it could be muscle/fat ratio throwing it that high...or it the person who did it didnt do it right, wqater can be mistaken for fat w/ a lot of tests also if calipers are used it can be that they didnt go to all the spots and averaged out only a few spots where you hold most fat....BTW i think I remember a thread by you a while ago trying to build muscle? what happened to that?

I measured my neck, waist and hips. I did it according to my weight and height, is this not an accurate way of finding your body fat percentage?

And I eat 4,000 calories a day... so it isn't like my body is "fitting for survival."

That isn't an accurate way at all.

If you can see your abs you're under 10%.

ya, what you see with guestimates and pics on the forum, is totally just wrong. Not many know what each bodyfat "really" looks like. everyone uneducated on the matter is always lots higher than they think they are

plus water retention/creatine has been known to throw those things off

Show me what your 4000calorie/day diet looks like and break it down into macros so we can verify it. I'm almost positive you don't eat 4K calories at 135lbs without gaining weight.
