    Dumbbell Pullovers

Anyone actually incorporate these into chest routine? They were a favorite of Arnold and some others, but I rarely hear of them used anymore.

I do them as well.......I lay perpendicular to the bench, with the bench resting on my shoulder blades and keep my body flat by having my feet flat on the ground and my knees bent at 90 degree. Gives a nice good stretch.

I do them on a cable column because I get a great range of motion. But I dont get to go as heavy this way.

Never. My serratus is way too prominent as it is.

I usually do them after a chest workout. Either with the dumbbell and the bench like Musclehead said, or with the cables or we also have pullover machine.....love em, especially the stretch you can get with the dumbbell

Do they tend to hit more of the chest or the serratus?

i superset them with pec dec or crossovers after almost every chest day. all the time i've spent in gyms i've only seen one guy doing pullovers and i really don't understand why because i think it's a great movement.

they are for your serratus i'm not sure how much they hit your chest, it's more of an advanced movement for people competing i believe

I don't do them anymore, I used to do them religiously when I was younger and I think they helped to expand my rib cage. Arnold was very fond of this exercise when you are young and growing.I will just do rope pull downs now to acheive the same thing.

Love them, I usually do them as a finisher for my chest routine, love the stretch.

I hate them... they screw with my elbow for some reason.

I was doing them 120's and my shoulder went bad... it is a little rough on the shoulder... I don't know if it was only because of that, or the combination of other movements, but I have stopped and haven't had a any major issues...that type of movement on shoulder is what should be weighed against the benefit even if it doesn't hurt it now....

Love 'em. Try chest and back together and finish with therse at the end of the workout. Yes, I said chest and back together, it's like a full upper body pump!

If your serratus is lacking do standing military press. I also would recomend a belt for this movment.

Most people get lats and serratus development with bent arm pullovers, especially when done on a decline bench.
