yea it seemed like one day everybody just seemed to be against it all of a sudden....i think its cuz if a respected mod or vet says something, everyone listens to them

ive done both and now i find i get just as big with out the whole pwo thing, dare I say even protein powder
I just eat a reg meal after and then cottage cheese w pb before bed. works great, more convienent and im leaner now.
Ill prob go back to my gatorade/pro PWO and all that this winter when I bulk,
YOU have to try each and see what works for you, Thats all that matters.
Its subjective, everyone has his or her preference. Some cant stand the "crash" from dextrose other can tolerate it,some malto, others prefer oats, others waxy maize, others prefer a combination of the two and so on. From my experience none of the options yields a significant difference.
PS; I believe PB was expermenting with all these and was keeping some type of log
Had the same question... finally got my diet really up to par and modified my diet mostly based on this post http://forums.steroid.com/showthread.php?t=113010 (I'm currently bulking and started my second cycle) and found it kind of weird to stay away from bad sugars all day long and then stuff myself with 80g of pure crap sugar all at once (I might be confused here... but dextrose is just plain sugar right?). Anyways... thoughts anyone... should I drop the dextrose? Thanks again guys!
Agreed. I tried both and didn't notice a significant difference. Research on pubmed, I recall reading a few studies that suggested glucose after a workout aided in recovery. I'll look it up sometime if I can find the time.Originally Posted by Prada
Sometimes the crash from dex was a bit much, especially if I had to work after working out. Now I use a combination of carbs. Usually only about 1/2 scoop of dex (around 12/5 grams), some regular oats, and sometimes a little bit of the sweetened oats (about 4gms of sugar per serving). Experiment and see what works best.
i use a combination of dex/malto/waxy maize. I just like playing with TrueProtein . com's little custom mix ratio they have. Who knows if its better, but i do like the taste PWO. And i have a solid meal about 30 min after with some lower GI carbs to slow the sugar crash... But if i dont eat within an hour of PWO shake the crash really does kinda suck.
Have not started yet. I am waiting to settle into my new lean bulk diet (comp 2 weeeks ago). I want to be as subjective as possible so a week or so more to really settle my body and i will begin the experiment, It will include glucometer readings for all pre WO carb sources plus how they affect WO.Originally Posted by Prada
