Yep hairloss is what initially got me into theis foruma few years back, i was having a thinning hairline at age 23 i really hated it, it didnt recede it just got thinner in the fringe area and i didnt like that, i used propecia and nizoral 2% for a long time and it really didnt do much for that front area, the thinning stopped but i couldnt reverse it i'm 27 this year and things got better financially a little bit plus i have a month off so i decided to go for it!!
I had consulted with Bosely and Nuhair and i didnt like their suggestions because they never did younger looking hairlines they only prefered "maturing" hairlines which basically means they keep the forehead big and start further back. Its a cosmetic procedure so i preferred to get it done my way and not how they saw suitable.
I kept looking around and then found Alviarmani, i liked alot of the before and after pics, they are more recent and i like the hairlines he did for many of the younger guys, i talked to them and i was happy with what they suggested because they basically will re-construct my hairline to have it like back when i was in highschool!! Screw the mature look we are closing the receding temples!
The procedure i opted for for a little extra money is called FUE, it basically means they will extract each hair by itself as opposed to using the "cutting a strip of skin off method" . This FUE method will mean no scars at all, faster healing of the donor area and nobody will be able to tell anything happened there. We are doing 2500 grafts which is alot i thought i would need alot less because its only thinning i'm not bald yet, but they promised every graft will grow and it will be extremly thick hairline once it grows out in 3+months.
For those of you interested in doing such a procedure i must tell u to ask about the pre/post op instructions because there is alot alot of care needed its not as simple as they make it seem in commercials, u basically cant even touch the areas operated on for a month after!! and a crusty layer of scabs will form which takes up to 3 weeks to fall off, and you cant wear a hat to cover them, so u will be hiding at home for a while!! But if the results are as good and as permanent as they say then its worth it for me!!
I wanted to start a log but i was afraid it will get pushed down in the next 3-6months so i will just wait for it to grow out and then show all the pics before and after and keep u guys updated!! Dr.Armani himself will be doing the procedure for me so it costs me twice as much!! for those wondering i checked all places and transplants range from 2.5-5 dollars a graft for the first 3000 grafts, then u get discounts after that. A few years back i never thought i would ever spend this much on a cosmetic procedure but i was shocked to see my old fashioned manager get his hair done and he went from shiny bald to normal looking hair!! His looked so natural eventhough he only had very little donor hair!!
Wish me luck, i'm gonna have genetically DHT-Resistant hair!!!
