Thread: Is Glucosamine containing Chondroitin and MSM good for bursitis and tendonitis?

Is Glucosamine containing Chondroitin and MSM good for bursitis and tendonitis?

I asked this question on the supps board but didn't know if it would be more appropriate here? Is Glucosamine containing Chondroitin and MSM good for shoulder bursitis? What about shoulder tendonitis?

For those of you who do take it:

    1. Do you take all the pills in one sitting or do you spread them out during the day?

    2. Does it matter what time of day you take them?

    3. Do you take them with food?

    4. Do you cycle them or do you take them year round?

When I had those same problems my Doc injected cortosone and used anti inflammatorys. He said that if that did not help, nothing would. It did help for a while but eventually I had to have surgery. So I am sorry I don't know if Glucosamine would help. Maybe it would in your case, it is worth a shot.

Doc, not that I don't believe you (you have FORGOTTEN more about lifting, supps, and diet than I will ever know) but can you give me your reasoning for why you believe each one? Is it your personal preference or is there scientific evidence why you say which methods are better?

    1. Why do you say it's best to take them all in one sitting?
    2. Why do you say it's best to take them in the morning?
    3. Why do you say it's best to take them with food?
    4. Why do you feel it's best to take them year round as opposed to cycling on/off them?

And I would also like to add a fifth question: I'm taking 3 pills a day which have a total of 1,500 mg. of Glucosamine, 1,200 mg. of Chondroitin, and 249 mg. of MSM a day. Is that enough daily intake of this supp if I'm 27 years old and weight 240 lbs?

    Thanks in advance Doc.

tommy i cnat go into detail, take it or leave it,this is how it should be done. you can cycle them on and off as needed but like i said for the BEST results take them all the time. your daily intake is fine as it is.
