Overtraining, imo. If you are bulking, you shouldnt lift more than 3-4 days/ew. If your cutting I still would not train more than 5-6 days/ew.

Rest is super critical. Give your CNS a break.

Thats what I figured, but i have heard of a lot doing it in the past... so I was wondering if there is a way to do it without overtraining... i definately don't want to overtrain.. thanks.

actually I have read about pros doing it in different mags, books, known a few guys that talk about it, etc... I have been lifting long enough and smart enough to know that you don't copy pros routines also...

What I was thinking is a completely different regime then I am doing now... I work out in the morning at gym1 body part a day and have excellent results the past few years... I was just thinking about something totally different and unorthodox then what i was doing... something like lets say: back in morning at gym...in the evening at home, bi's... next day shoulders/tris split.... split legs into two times.... etc...then doing something like 3 on 1 off, etc... i don't know just looking at a different approach that can take it up a notch while on gear...

I train hard and I am looking to take advantage of new gym and gear and change... but it is not like I will do it if it is dumb. sure people have tried it.???

The issue I see with your proposal (back in morning and bis at night) is that, since your bis are already getting worked as a secondary muscle group while you're working your back, they're going to get overtrained. Essentially, you'll be tearing the muscle fibers in the morning, giving them 8 hours rest and then ripping them some more in the evening.

could work with opposing muscle groups. For example, back in morning and triceps in the evening.

yea, I was just jottin down the jist of my train of thought, I haven't mapped it out properly like you are saying, i understand that part completely... I wouldn't do it even if it sounds good on paper, but i was looking to see who has had experience with something like that... my routine works pretty good now and I would only want to do something that can take it up a notch...

I guess the key of doing something like that would be that I hit my groups just as intense, but a little more frequently... while at the same time, not compromising the time needed for proper healing.

^^ Bottom line, try it and see.

+ most of us here have jobs/school. even if we had the time, still prob wouldnt

However, everyonce in a great while it is fun just to make a day out of the gym. like on a sat when I have the weekend off, ill get up early eat a couple of times, lift and maybe a bit of cardio. eat again, go to the pool, work on tan, home, eat, run a couple errands or better yet take a nap. eat
again, then gear up to go back and train again. its kinda fun.....

I'm a two timer. Only because my priorities are a bit off. I put too much of a priority on my bodybuilding agenda but at least I'm a happy guy.

like the other guy said, try it - ***ends on your genetics. I used to "overtrain" my delts and traps and they blew up quick, so now I'm trying to get my other parts up to speed and i work them out less.
But I cant work my chest more that 1 time ever 4 or 5 days that muscle needs lots of time off.

See what happens after a few months. the worst case senario is you dont make gains.

What kind of training would you do for your delts/traps, every other day or something? I'm thinking i need to try that.

i also did that, but the wrong way by using my shoulders instead of my chest on bench press. i use to do 20+ sets.
i think my shoulders are my biggest body part.
so now i never work the anterior by itself, i only work medial and posterior.

I think this is great advice. See what works for you. Listen to your body and train right, there is no reason why you could not train 2x a day though, but rember rest is important, so it goes both ways!!!!!
