My pant size went up?!?! Lower back TOO wide from DEADLIFTS/SQUATS

I have been using that German Volume Training workout for over a month now. I have been putting on size and weight quickly, mostly from this vastly different type of stress on my muscles.

My question is has anyone ever had their lower back grow TOO wide from stiff leg deadlifts or squats. I was a 32/33 @ 190+ for a long time. I had to jump to a 34/35 when buying new pants and noticed by torso no longer has the taper from my upper back to my waist. Granted I am over 200+ now but I am still fairly cut and have the V in my hip.

I like the strenght and size gains but could I be doing too much volume on deadlifts? Appreciate the input!

Squats and deads have thickened me too. Back, legs, ass. Need new clothes now. I love the power so I don't care that it added 2 to 3 inches on my waist.

    Sorry no digital camera.

I guess I picked the wrong season to bulk up and I guess I will just have to get the lats to stick out even farther to bring the taper look back.

Thats the spirit. If one part gets too big, just grow the rest. I like it.

Yeah my lower back grows too. Plus I still have this little bit of stubborn fat ***osit back there that I can't get rid of. I went to get dressed for my daughters dance and none of my clothes fit. Not even my belt.

Actually I'm holding a litttle water right now but yeah my BF should be about the same. I can still see my abs.

well ok, i guess muscle from deadlifts really can make size of pants go up without gaining fat....hmmmmm, i feel a little better now lol

Redflag? I am not as ripped as jersey but I am not a lard either!

Seriously...trying this German Volume Training put some weight on me hella quick...that and I am sure my muscles have been pretty swollen (hence that extra inch plus around the waist).

I wish more people on here had some input about the routine. It was humbling to start at 60%-70% 1RM but I am an advocate now! I might change the exercises and hammer the upper back to see if it will grow like the lower.

    Thanks!
