Cant get my F'n wife in the gym.

Pisses me off to no end. I told her she could quit her job so she could finish up her school without so much stress. So she goes to school MAYBE 15 hours a week and has no homework or tests to study for. I go out of town for my job and Im usually gone about 36 hours at a time. Way too often I call to talk to her and ask, "so did you work out"? Man you should hear the excuses roll. I feel like she is kinda being selfish. Ya know I bust my ass in the gym try to eat good, and all that to look good. I used to do it to get *****, now Im cool with just one good girl, but I feel like why should I try so hard to look good for someone who will not do the same for me? I mean she is beautiful now, but I guess what also bothers me is her acceptance of mediocrity. I just dont get how some people are content with average. I dont know, just needed to get this out to someone. One final question, is it just me or do very few women have a real passion or hobby of any sort?

OH HELL YES!!!! I never thought of that!!! I already got one for my dog, I'll just pad lock it on her in her sleep. Hell, even if she doesnt go to the gym I bet if I hit the button enough it will give her a hell of a workout. EXCELLENT, she can sit on the couch and get a full body workout. Not only that I could have my buddies over and we could have a group ab class from lau***ng our asses off watching her flop around like a fish outta water. GENIOUS!!

I agree with mav though. We all have our passions, yours, mine and im sure pretty much everyone on this board that is dedicated, is lifting. Your wifes may be, Gardening? Reading? Cooking? There may be many things your wife does for you and her on a regular basis that you never notice.

Also try and spice things up a lil bit. There are ways to get her to do some simple cardio that will really work on her tightening her body if you try hard enough. Try a dance class? somthing like salsa thats fast. This will be a good hour class, you will both be doing a form of cardio, and im sure your wife would be thrilled. And Im sure you would get some heafty brownie points if you brought up, "hey, I think we should take a dance class, somthing like salsa, i like the fast dancing"

Perhaps go on a walk with her, mabye a mile or two, mabye not a high high fat burner, but once again im sure your wife will apreciate it and shes getting excersise.

Think about it man! theres so many things you can do to get your wife active without asking her to "workout"

My wife and i have been working out together for 12yrs.I got her into it by going and doing my workout before or after her.if it means that much to you then appropriate 30 or 45 minutes to train her one on one as a personal trainer would do until she develops her own drive and ambition to workout regularly.Alot of women go to the gym and feel lost and overwhelmed by the atmosphere of free weights..once she gets the feel for things she will more than likely take a liking to it.

I have been real stressed at work lately and having some health problems that are really f'n with my life right now which adds to the stress. Tell her you want her to live a long and healthy life and that it is also nice to have a companion with similar PRODUCTIVE interests. She's obviously comfortable, but she has to understand that you see this as a weak link in her, and it only takes one link to break the chain.
