Need some advice on which car I should buy.

I'm thinking of something relatively fast, turbocharged or supercharged, used, under $20K. I was thinking of getting a 2004-2005 Subaru Impreza Wrx Sti, anyone got any suggestions?

I hate the looks of all Subaru's inside and out but the performance of the wrx is impressive.

they hold their value very well, and there are so many after market parts you will never stop dumping $$$ into it..

great buy.. my suggestion is to buy the new one.. the used ones were going for about $5000 less than 3 yr old than the new ones..

I would go with a used sti, before the style change. The new ones are slightly less rigid therefore they don't handle as well.

I think what you are trying to say is that: The Bugeye's Rule.

I was thinking of a Supra but the Wrx has AWD,better gas mileage, and the under 20K Supras all have pretty high mileage.

    Evo Mr!!!!

  17. #17
evo X has a .5 liter smaller engine, puts out 20 less hp and is still faster and better in almost every category.

if your going for semi luxury with a nice v6(one of the best motors ever built), get an altima, i think they house around 260hp. 08's put out 275.

other than the supercharged/turbo thing, you can look at a G35X(all wheel drive).... nice car if u can find a used one for that price range.

regular wrx is slow, sti is decent, evo is better but get a supra if you really wanna have fun and by have fun i mean haul ass

don't worry about the mileage, supras were big money brand new so most owners took really good care of them, also the mottor is bulletproof and will run forever

Ya I think I'm just gonna stick with getting a 2005 Subaru Impreza Wrx Sti. I could always supe it up later if need be with all those aftermarket parts out there.

I agree, especially if you plan on modding them, the 4g63 in the evo is a beast

Both the sti and the evo will respond well to modding. Of course the evo outhandles the sti, but the cost is a ridiculously stiff suspension. Have you ever sat in one and taken a ride? The sti is a much more daily liveable car in comparison to the evo, because the evo is a much more hardcore car then the sti. You really can't go wrong with either, but I say sti for slightly more comfort.

I've driven both cars and been in the passenger seat of the Evo almost as much as the driver and I would take the Evo over the STI anyday. Comfort Wise, Handling Wise, and of course....ENGINE WISE!

Here is a video of my good friends Evo MR with stock turbo, intake, reflash and a turboback exhaust VS. a WRX STI with the same mods except he was not on his stock turbo.(What turbo exactly he was running I'll find out)

Here is another video of him short shifting through the gears....listen to that backfire yeehaw!

Ya I'd like the comfort, I'm not going to be racing with it. I just want it to be decently fast to have a little fun on the road and make it much easier to get around slow ass driving people. I have a 96 Honda Accord LX with 150hp right now, I think I'll do just fine with a Wrx Sti.
