    Acne question

I had acne on my back and shoulders, and I was told that dishwasher detergent would help to get rid of it, so I gave it a try and it worked great but now my skin is all red and peeling off. Does anyone know of anything to help this and has anyone else used dishwasher detergent to get rid of acne?

I exfoliate a couple times a day. Use the loofa on your back just be careful that thing can rip your back apart. lol

Sure the dishwash soap works but you may want to try something milder for now. Neutrogena bodyscrub is effective and you can use it often.

You might try putting some moisturizer (that clearly says "wont clog pores" and oil free, etc.) or lotion on your back right after using the dish soap. It sounds like your back is just too dry - moisture is a good thing.

You could go to the doctor and see if he recommends a perscription drug for you instead of detergent and other otc stuff.

i went to my doc for acne problems once and he gave me a mild antibiotic.. i would not do this if your doc gives it to you.. it could mess with your cycle and build an immunity to antibiotics if used too much.

I agree. They work great but antibiotics should be one of the last resort for acne treatment. Someday most of us will need then for real to save our life and the last thing you want is to over-expose yourself to them now.
