So this is my first post, I've been reading here for a bit and have been very impressed with the knowledge level. I started lifting within the last month or so, after not having lifting since HS (I'm 23). I've been looking around for info on diet, workout regimens, supplements, etc., and ran across this at a site I read all the time, thought some people here might find it interesting.
So I ran across this article, http://arstechnica.com/journals/scie...skin-thank-you which I found to be quite interesting, so I looked at the studies cited in the article.

This is a study that basically found that drinking coffee reduced the chances of developing liver cancer, and that the reduction was even more heavy in those with pre-existing liver damage.

The second study had to do with caffeine and exercise being synergistically beneficial to help reduce the risk of developing skin cancer, but had some other interesting side effects, namely that sub-dermal fat layers reduced dramatically in test subjects, with losses of 38%, 42%, and 68% over a 2 week period. Now there's some results!
I was thinking about possibly taking some caffeine pills and/or drinking some herbal teas and seeing how things went, and was wondering if anyone else had tried using caffeine before or knew anything about it. I'm thinking that because the mice were getting the caffeine in their drinking water, that it would probably be best to consume caffeine to try and keep a consistent level in the body throughout the day, as opposed to say before working out or something. An interesting read if nothing else.
