    K+ sparring Diuretic

    Group,

I hear there is a drug that is considered a diuretic that dosen't disrupt the K+, and in fact, it is used on hypokalemic or hypocalemic patients. It begin's with an A...I left the actual drug name at work on my desk.

Since I am nearly out of the woods with my graves diseas of the thyroid, I still have facial and hand edema and want to rid the excess fluid retention.

I could use an anti-e for that, probably, but was wanting to pick people's mind about the K+ preserving drug.

    Thanks!

I hate to soud so stupid, but where is the 'older profile archive' link, I don't see it. Being 41 *OLD* I may not be seeing it...

I had a complication from my Graves disease treatment that made my K+ drop to a critical level and was paralyzed for about 5 or 6 hours and was in the ICU for observation for three days. I am told now, that is so rare, it will never hapen again. Asian men get it 1.8% of the time and Caucasion males have a 0.1% occur post I-131 treatment to kill the thyroid.

I just want my facial and hand edema to disappear. I have no pitting edema on either ankle, it's all above the diaphragm.

    Thanks
