    Beef Jerky question

well from the looks of the nutrition facts, beef jerky sounds amazing !!!
    70 calories
    1g of fat
    0 sat tran
    0 carbs
    22g of protein !!!!!

but here is the thing..... 1260mg of sodium !!!!

    goooooolly !!!!

is it ok to eat beef jery for a quick snack on the run, or totally avoid it?!

im on a cutting diet, watching my macros carefully and carb cycling

is there something i should eat along with the beef jerky? like yogurt to help break down the sodium??

any help would be greatly apprecaited, thansk!!!

no need to do that, just know you will hold water if your eat excessive amounts of it. a few pieces here and there isnt gonna hurt...but i would not make it a staple in my diet by any means.

High levels of sodium make one retain water and look bloated. Just don't eat it all the time if you're cutting.

yeah, but does water retention do anything else other than make you bloated??? does it effect weight loss or weight gain....is there anything really negative about it other than looks????

it can raise bp like stated but as for gains i dont believe it affects them negatively at all or even the fat loss yet its hard to tell exactly wats going on cause ur weight is always fluctuating due to the bloat, like i said i do watch my sodium wen cutting but im bulking right now and i put franks red hot on everything, lol

Make it yourself and use low/no sodium products and you wouldnt have to worry about it as much!

I've seen it and some of it is good I just don't mind making it. I also prefer to know that my beef jerky is just beef and 2 or 3 other ingredients as opposed to the long list of stuff I've never heard of on the back of every manufactured jerky. I also make chicken and turkey jerky!
