So my computer broke like a month ago for a couple a weeks and I needed to find something to do during down time or w/e.
I'm flipping through MTV and I watch The Hills. And I kinda like the shit. Than I watch Newport Harbor.. and The LIfe of Ryan. And I feel like a fvcking teenage girl now or some shit.
So I'm just curious if any guys out there watch this crap. And if anyone lives around where these shows are taped feel free to send some $$ to your broke ass east coast brotha Bo. Or maybe I'm just generalizing and everyone who lives in these areas isn't grotesquely rich or spoiled.. or a model/surfer with thier own tv show. =]
But I really am curious to see what people think who live in these areas & how thier town is portrayed. I know they tried to make another season of Laguna Beach and nobody applied for a part because they were sick of how MTV was creating all these stereotypes of people who live in these areas.
And my question for you people who fit into this boat.. are you retarded? Come to Lincroft NJ and I'll apply for a part and take all your money. Unthankful bastards.

yes, unfortunately im addicted to it man lol. but i live about 25 miles from laguna, about 15 miles from newport "harbor" (its really just newport beach). i think u can find people like that in places all over the country. yes, the OC (orange county - which is where laguna and newport are) is one of the top 5 richest counties in the united states but there are other places where kids around that age live a similar lifestyle. for instance, i used to live in johnson county, kansas which is also one of the richest counties in the country and i went to school with kids who had lives like that. there are also places like this in virginia and florida etc. the shows like laguna and newport tend to focus on a very small group of superwealthy people. so yea, some kids are really like that live around here but u can see it in other places all over the country as well.

my wife watches them all the time... i go to school in northridge and live about 30 min from hollywood... L.A is L.A... you got the rich and poor side but southern california cost of living is a pretty penny...

ehhhh, i watch it when im bored somtimes to, but i acknowledge its just terrible teen girl type stuff........I actually did watch the first season of laguna beach religiously, because that summer that it aired, was the summer before starting college, and the show went into them leaving for school also, so it was almost a must watch for all kids my exact age in a way......

its totally aright to watch this show......but at the same time, it makes me feel belemic

AHA I love the feedback in this thread, exactly what I was looking for.

I actually find when I'm working out and around a tv I'll kinda mosey on over to MTV with the remote and just walk away and watch it from a distance. But I definently feel like this abnormal need to be perfect when I watch the shit so I guess its motivational but at the same time not to be taken to seriously.

Chances are I'll never live in a mansion in Beverly Hills or Newport BEACH but it is somewhat entertaining to watch.

I've never been to Cali before but its def #1 on the list when I'm allowed to leave the state again lol.

lol because dude technically anywhere that you can dock boats you can call a harbor. so u can say miami harbor or san fran harbor. they just call it that for the show to make it sound trendy. and btw in my personal opinion california beaches are nice and all but for me nothing compares to florida...

I think he acts like that cuz his dad pays so much more attention to Brook and he just wants attention. But I remember the kid was walking accross beems on the cieling, he shoots friggn water ballons at nieghbors alone on his roof, takes the golf cart out and has police looking for him a half hour later.

I know you gotta make drama for tv but the kids just too wild for his own good. And when I saw the picture of his car and heard that it flipped and hit the tree mid air you know the kid was going irresponsbily fast. The saddest part is the dad prob is gonna wind up paying for all of it if they get sued but if he goes to jail for a little bit at least thats the best thing that could happen to him at this point.

Wow, I had no idea he dropped out of school. As strict as Hulk is I never thought he'd tolerate some crap like that.
And I'm starting to think if the dad's cool with his son being a drop-out its not that big a deal that he's gonna have to pay for his mistakes afterwards.
