Unhappy Pain in back of head

Ok, so I was doing dumbell fly's, I did 35's farely easy so I decided to step it up to the 40's.. I was doing good untill I got to the 7 -8th rep when i was strugglying when all of a sudden I had this tremendous pain explode in the back of my head. It hurt for a good while. It was like the back of my head where there are no muscles or no neck muscles running up into.

Has anyone else had this problem before or know what it is? Could it have been alot of pressure from pushing the weight? I've been doing 30-35lbs for a while, but i got stronger so i was able to do the 40's. Atleast untill that pain came.

if i had any weird pressure or pain in my head i get checked out asap. i know of to people in their mid twenties who had aneurysms.one was a girl, one was a guy, both had multiple symptoms, the day before, did not get checked out, and both died. in most cases, it wont be anything serious, but IMO it is worth getting checked out

Yes, get it checked out. I was experiencing headaches for a few days myself and it was because of a serious issue. My avatar tells the story.

I would be inclined to believe it is a burst blood vessel.

I had this afew years ago. I was leg pressing, and was going alittle heavier than usual, cranking out my final reps. Then, i had the same kind of thing happen, right in the back of my head. For afew days afterwards I got a slight pain in that spot whenever I physically exerted myself.

After those few days, my head has been fine and have never had problems since, but, if I feel pressure build up in my head again I shall stop training immediately and rest for afew days.

Ok, so I went to the doctor yesterday, they checked me out, asked me a bunch of questions and so forth. I didnt have any pain in my head anymore the day after the incident, and no headaches from it.(which is a good thing) The doctor said that it is probably from the extra weight that I was doing, that my major back muscles(forgot the exact name) got strained or pulled and the pain shot right up into my head through the trapezious muscle, and thats what caused my head to hurt so bad. So just to be sure I had a CAT scan done on my head, and the results came back negative, I didnt have any bleeding or any problems like that, so I should be fine.

Very weird how pain shot up into my head like that, but atleast I'm all good to go and hopefully I'll be able to keep getting strong and use heavier weights without this problem. It was only the butterfly excerise so I'm wondering that with the extra weight, that maybe I arched my back a little and tweaked it all out and thats why the pain came. All my muscles feel great, so hopefully im good to go.
