    Glucose enhancing absorption.

    So im told that absorption of several important things like protein and creatine, etc are highly enhanced by taking them with glucose. Grape Juice is often mentioned. Apologies if this question seems fairly clueless, but could Grape Juice plus Chicken Breasts = better than washing it down with water?

    Are chicken breasts your PWO meal? Or do you take a protein shake? Only answering this will I, or anyone i would think, be able to determine the best course of action

    It has more to do with glucose raising insulin levels and stimulating your metabolism. For things like protein they are transported into cells via a glucose dependent transport mechanism. Creatine is pretty much along the same lines. Insulin is the hormonal signal that causes cells to increase absorption and increase cellular activity. The theory behind taking pure glucose is that it spikes insulin levels faster. But practically any non-complex carbohydrate will produce a relatively fast insulin spike. Complex carbs such as large polymer sugars and lactose which a lot of adults lack enzymes for will produce this effect.
