I am a real hairy git. Have tried many hair removal solutions and none have been satisfactory - up to now. I tried using depilatory creams but they itch and irritate the skin and cause rashes for me. Veet is not good for me. I tried using the Mach 3 razor and it does get rid of hair really well but then I get really bad itching from it for a couple of days - this is because I think the razor causes razor burns on the skin. I tried the mach 3 for three or four weeks and the itching lessened somewhat but it was still too much. Quite uncomfortable and painful.
Then I saw the advert for the Bodygroom. Even if you never buy this product, do watch this. It is absolutely hilarious.
Anyway, with all other methods having failed and with me unwilling to spend some serious dough on waxing (and also not willing to undergo the waxing pain), I decided to buy the bodygroom and tested it.
It really is awesome. There have been many questions raised on this forum about shaving pubic hair. Let me say this unequivocally - if you want to get rid of pubic hair, nothing better has been invented yet - so far as I can see. It is completely safe - I never got a single nick or cut from it and the hair came off effortlessly. It is quite brilliant. But it also works all over the body - armpits, chest, legs - the works. It does not give you as close a shave as the mach 3 but that is actually one of its plus points. Because it does not shave the hair so close, you don't get the itchy regrowth problems Ive experienced with mach 3. In fact, I got no itching anywhere - absolutely amazing.
What is the disadvantage of using this product? The same as with all shaving solutions. My hair grows back really quickly. Ideally you should shave every day - and you can with this device because it causes no itching or discomfort. But shaving everyday is a daunting prospect and I simply do not have the time to do it. What therefore happens is that the next day your hair is just that perfect length at which it turns you into a porcupine - if any woman tried to have sex with you, she might as well try s******g a hedgehog. Of course, once your hair grows just a bit longer, this problem goes away.
So this is not the perfect solution. You won't get the kind of really smooth feel as with waxing (except on the day you shave) and it does nothing to lessen your hair regrowth. But if you want a cheap and comfortable solution free of itches and other problems, this is it. In the UK, it costs about £24. In the US, it is $34 I think.
