The 2008 Democratic candidates are beholden to a "hyper-partisan, politically paranoid" liberal base that could endanger the final nominee's chances of winning next year's presidential election, Joe Lieberman, the former vice-presidential Democratic candidate, said yesterday.

In his most outspoken attack on fellow Democrats since he was unsuccessfully challenged last year by Ned Lamont, a liberal Democrat, for his Senate seat in Connecticut, Mr Lieberman yesterday said he might not vote for the Democratic presidential nominee next year.

I thought it was funny as hell when everyone that wanted Lieberman out thought they got him out and before they could finish getting a nut off about it he was back in.

He's an old party democrat. Democrats have not always followed in lock-step with the fringe groups.

The democrats should kick Lieberman off his chairmanship. Let him join a coalition with the republicans if he wants, it's not like the democratic senate has accomplished anything with there majority status.

Lieberman is more of a Democrat than his fellow Senators are. FDR and JFK were strong foreign policy Democrats who did alot for this country. As I stated, Democrats were not always like the Democrats of today.

Parties change with times. The republicans today are not the same republicans during Lincolns times and the same with the democratic party.

I'm glad that the democrats today are not like democrats of yesteryears (although I don't like the present ones). I'm glad we don't have slave holders and Native American killers like Andrew Jackson around or all those racist and segregationists democrats like Woodrow Wilson.
