    Squat with shoes or without

Recently I have been having problems squatting due to adding weight regarding balance. I have always performed my squats without shoes and was wondering if wearing shoes would improve my balance.

Sorry about the retard question, its just that as soon as i cock one squat up the rest are only half asses bounce squats.

Try a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor's. They give you a nice flat base to work off of. If your gym allows it you may also try a pair of work boots.

I have done the workboots when I would do a lot on squats back in the day and they worked very well in the way of balance.

    wear shoes!

on a side note to lift-a-lot's, also check out the Adistar weightlifting shoes.... they're pricey but were specifically designed for squats and deads for athletes during the Athens Olympics..

I just ordered them...waiting for them to arrive

i believe they are for olympic weightlifting which if he squats with a narrow stance shouldnt be a problem, but since they have a very thick soul they would not be good for deadlifting.

also squatting and deadlifting are not olympic events

I'm well aware that squats and deads are nor olympic events, but most olympic power-lifting athletes do practice them regardless to build core strength.

Have you tried those shoes yourself? your opinion holds no weight otherwise..pun not intended

    cheers
