    The Mist

lol, this shouldnt be a spoiler

Just got back from seeing it.

Well, it wasnt bad, but not great either. just a stephen king movie.
its not scary as the previews make it out to be.
probably more "political" than a horror movie with the whole religious/military tone

nice little "I didnt expect that" ending

paid 9 bucks to see it, and didnt mind watching it, but i wouldnt care to see it again for any price. JMO...

Wow, they actually made a film of The Mist??

Many fans, including myself, consider The Mist to be Kings best short story. Wouldn't mind seeing the film to see if it matches up.

Both elements are antagonistic to the movie.

But unlike XLX, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It was very well done, scintillating at times, just count the number of times you relax after being unwittingly tensed.

You'll have to see this one on the big screen to best enjoy the creatures and come on XLX, you have to admit they were outstanding?

Maybe it's the screenwriter in me (working on one, w/one shelved), but I did see the ending coming. This won't spoil anything but "Never giving up" is a classic Hollywood theme.

well, i do think it was well written.
the creatures were cool yes, but i think the previews make the movie seem like a huge horror fest, which i didnt see/feel although i did jump a few times. i thought the creatures at first were a little cheesy(dont wanna spoil with details), but they got progressively cooler

lol it was decent overall magic. I mean, i saw it, and i recommend people see it themselves, but i would not pay to see it again. although i would watch it again...lol the jew-dar is going off beep beep beep.
jk-im not jewish (no offense to anyone)

and rana, magic answered yr question

Most of Kings stories have quite a heavy religious theme to them, noticeable ones being Salems Lot, Desperation and The Stand. I've noticed that it's usually about Faith over-coming evil. While King himself is not religous, he does believe in God.

I thought the movie was okay, especially for a game to film adaptation. And I thought Timothy Olyphant did a good job portraying the very disturbed character, he's a good actor. As for the stunts, well Bond set the precedent for not being big and strong, then Jason Bourne preserved it well, so there's really no bar now. You simply don't need an Arnold, Sly, or even a Jean Claude or Vin Diesel anymore. Heck even Ice Cube played the latest XXX.

This was a stark departure from the past. As stated above, religion is an extremely antagonistic element in this film.
