Very Suspicious

I was in the gym the other day and a friend was telling me that his brother had ordered a couple of things from across the ocean... He waited and waited and he got a phone call from the courier on his answering machine claiming that the parcel was detained by customs (Seized)... The courier left a number and asked him to call ... Anyone every heard of something like this?... he asked me what do i think his bro should do... i didnt know the answer...

just go to the "anabolic steroids" one. You'll def get more responses there. That being said, no way in hell I would call. Customs already has it so he should just leave it alone and go domestic from now on. Its not like hes going to be able to call and convince them to send it through. The last thing he would want to do is admit in any way that he had a package addressed to him. the best thing you can do in a case like this is deny ever having anything addressed to you. If this is the first time he has ever had something seized by customs, they more than likely will leave him be, and just "destroy" the gear.

I am a new guy here but I definitely would not call. I have never heard of customs calling anyone. They usually send a letter.

did he provide the source his phone number when purchasing, I doubt that a "customs courier" would call ? Customs uses couriers ? I would suspect his source is not a reliable one, and came up with this scheme to avoid him caling them!

If the packaged had his name on it is very possible that the courrier could have obtained his phone # using information (411) or even whitepages.com - it could have just been customer service trying to find out about the package. If he calls have him play dumb and just say that he had a message to call and he doesn't know why, refuse delivery and ask for some sort of documentation stating that his package was seized by customs so he can hopefully get it reshipped. JUST DON'T ADMIT TO ANYTHING!
