    Raging drunk takin roids

Ok I do see some or alot of posts about drinking while taking steroids!
I don't see any info anywhere on the web about alcoholics taking steroids!
So what is your take on it.
I don't mind the steroids to be honest. He usually drinks a bit less and goes to the gym.
But there are those days at least one a week that he gets totally hammered.
Sometimes he just passes out and other times he slips into this crazy person mode.
Destructive, Ignorant, Just a plain asshole.
This pattern seems to be worse when he is taking steroids.
SO since I don't really am not 100% there is such a thing as roid rage.I say this because without alcohol he is fine. But can anyone tell me that steroids and alcohol could be to blame for this crazy person behavior?

And just to be clear I am not taking about a couple beers here.
I am talking about Mr. 6 pack a day. And alot of 2 day binge drinking that include hard liquor and beer.

I completely get that most people on roids use it right and actually go to the gym everyday. I am talking about the idiot that takes it and then gets liquored up and then gets destructive.

So do you think the combo is the cause for this split personality evil ****er?

  4. #4

    True

But I don't feel like someone is gonna kill me in my sleep when he isn't on.

  5. #5

    right

Thats the thing he gets his liver checked and it's F in fine. He claims the roids help repair it.

how long has he been an alcoholic? that's the major issue at hand. then possibly some anti-depressants are in order if the problem doesn't cease

steroids actually make most people much more calm

  9. #9

    Nice

Well I would say he is a on and off alki.
It has been about 5 years though.
The crazy thing is he is in denial. He used to be a somewhat serious bodybuilder. No I think he just continues taking because it is just his way. But he is for sure not calm. Claims he still takes the stuff for the rush.
I guess it wouldnt be so bad if he actually went to the gym more than 1 once every 2 weeks. And put the bottle down.
He was told to go on anti-deps but says the gym is better for him.

Im a lot nicer while im on a cycle I have alcoholics in my family that are sober in A.A you might want to talk to him about getiing sober alcoholism is a serios thing and can really have an effect on family members of the alcoholic. You might want to check out alanon its a program for family members of alcholics. Im sorry to hear that your husband is a alcoholic I know how it feels to see a loved one in the grip of alcoholism good luck

    I know

Yeah I know but feel it is my place as a wife to try to do something before throwing in the towel.
He wouldn't care if I gave him a go to rehab or get out choice anyway. He would just walk out the door and probably end up dead. I know he needs help.
He is just so bull headed that I figured if maybe I got some type of non media info on this matter it may help.
You know what I mean media makes everything look bad.
I just wanted to find some real facts on the level of danger there is with being a alcoholic on stuff.
Then again if he sees this on here he will know its me he will probably put my head through a wall.
I cannot win either way it seems.

Wow Im really sorry the steroids are not the problem its the drinking many alcholics get aggressive when their drunk my grandpa put my teeth through my lip when I was like 12 years old that was when he was still drinking. Getting help for yourself is not a bad thing its sounds to me like your between a rock and a hard place I would wait until the end of a binge and then talk to him about getting help that is really your only hope if you want him to change

i'd get out of that situation until it changes...your putting yourself in danger...if he's an alcoholic like that, then he's a very un-stable, so yes in that sense steroids could make things a little worse...but the alcoholism is the worst problem that needs to be addressed...when you made the comment of him putting your head through the wall, then he's not much of a man...get out of there if you do feel threatened at all...there is no reason for any woman to feel that way...if you need to talk you can pm me anytime

Me and my wife kinda went through the same thing years ago . She basicly did the same thing that you are doing . I had been doing cycles and coming home after work and drinking pretty heavly , not to mention I had
Edited. No rec drug references. to . She did her reseach and then confronted me . What she had found is that Drinking and Edited. No rec drug references. raises estrigen levles in men and this is a bad thing to do when on cycle . Another thing that I had to find out the hard way is that if you drink you my as well throw your money down the drain . I did cycle after cycle gained no weight , spent thousands of dollars for nothing except bad side effects .

its simple, if he cant control his drinking habits and is self destructive, steroids are not going to make anything better.

ALANON, it will teach you how to cope with your emotions and problems, he's unwilling to help himself and theres nothing u can do. I know because I'm a recovered alcoholic and I've got family members in alanon. AA is the only thing that can really help him short of a miracle. Let me know if you have any questions.

Like I said also go to ALANON it will help you cope with all of this if he doesn't want to get sober hes not going to but working that program will change your life and help you to deal with living with an alcoholic. Cheers

It sounds like he has already been using his fists to the talking , this will never get any better no matter how much you want it to . Get out of there and let him hit rock bottom . Then mabey you can pick up the pieces if you want , but at all costs protect yourself . Take Care & Good Luck

Seriously get a video camera and tape him during his next episode it adds a depth of realism to see how much of an ass you are when you can see yourself and how rediculous you can be. Some people have no business drinking and unfortunately you're husband sounds like one of these individuals, just let him know that each and every day that this continues is essentially putting him in an early grave and driving those important to him away one drink at a time. Best of luck to you and your husband.

I am an alcoholic myself. Bodybuilding saved me from a very destructive lifestyle. Luckily i gave up drinking before using roids. He will only seek help when he realises he has a problem. Sometimes you must reach rock bottom before this happens. If you choose to stand by him it will be a long and painful journey. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do....

Me too. In bold ^ is so true. Your best hope is to get him in a rehab. If you cant get him to realize he has a problem then you should leave his ass. Tell him to come find you if he ever sobers up.

    Yes there is ROID RAGE!

It happens to some people, and some it dont.

My 1st cycle i had roid rage, but put it in check.

And mixing beer or anything els with steroids is a double whammy!

Also your liver will only take so much abuse from drinking!

You need to treat your liver like a Temple!

I have not drank in over 4 months, and i'am a much better person.
(I used to live for weekends of drinking till you could not drink no more.)

    Now i live to workout.

Good Luck, it seems you need it.

    Peace Out.

if he has a love for training and used to take it seriously but only goes once every two weeks or so then maybe getting him a personal trainer for christmas or his birthday would/could prompt him to take it serious again and or stop drinking so much (just an idea)

that is if you have the money

also get him to sign up for this site he would learn alot
