Please help!!! lateral colateral ligament tear

Tore my knee ligament last night doing bjj. Anyone had this injury and how quickly did you recover. What rehab is recommened. Any AAS that might assist. Doc said to use crutches for 10 days and reassess. Trouble is I'm a bouncer and I must continue working to pay the bills. This means standing for 10 -14 hours at a time. Doc said this shouldn't do any long term damage but will prolong recovery time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Injuries are so depressing and I get the shits big time when I can't train. Thanks in advance.

Your gonna have to determine how bad the tear is with MRI. Maybe you just sprained it? If its so sloppy you have no stability your gonna need surgery. I dont know who was testing orthopedically but its difficult to isolate the exact ligaments strained. I mean if your knee opens up like a door hinge then yeah youve torn a a lateral ligament and if that is the case theres a good chance youve torn others like the anterior and/posterior lig and with that come cartilage tears. So you best bet is to scrounge up some money for an STIR MRI.
if you dont have any ins then you can barter with an MRI lab for the study. offer them half of there normal cost. Dont bother with an X-ray its not gonna tell ya what you need to know. No CT either
