    225 bench test.

    hey everyone, I am new to this website. I am searching for new ways to increase my 225 bench press for the nfl combine coming up. If anyone has any tips or good workouts I could do to increase my rep max. I am 6'0" 245 LBS I just got 225 23 times yesterday. I have tons of lifting experiance. I have been playing college football for the past 5 years. So if anyone can add their suggestions, I'd appericate it. Thanks guys.

    Arch your back as much as they will allow and squeeze your butt cheeks together to raise your butt up while still touching the bench. If I were You I would consider some igf 1 or hgh too.

    I have several workouts i used to get ready for the combine and the 225 bp test, all three has added 6-10 reps.

    Workout 1:
    Mon: max effort day
    bp 1-3 reps
    cg lockouts 1-5 reps
    weighted dips 4x5
    bent rows 4x5
    face pulls 15-12-10
    curls 8-6-4

    Thur: rep day
    bp 100x total reps
    db row 4x20
    db tri ext 4x20
    plate raises 4x20

    Workout 2:
    Mon: max effort day
    max effort rotate every 2-3 weeks
    bp
    floor press
    2-3-4-5 board press
    aux work:
    db bp or incline press 2xreps
    db rows+face pulls 4x12
    shrugs+curls 3x15

    Thur:
    speed bp 6x3x55
    235 rep work 3xreps
    lat pd+rear raises 4x12
    lat raises 4x12
    shrugs+band press downs 25-20-15

    Workout 3:
    Mon:
    bp 1-3
    weighted dips
    rows
    face pulls

    Thur:

    250 pounds max number of times

    25 push-ups

    3:00 rest

    250 pounds max number of times

    25 push-ups

    3:00 rest

    225 max number of times

    25 push-ups

    2:00 rest

    225 max number of times

    25 push-ups

    155 max number of times

    25 push ups

    2:00 rest

    135 max number of times

    25 push-ups

    15-20min of easy aux work.

    Too get the 225 test you need to have alot of endurance and explosive power. Jumping rope will take care of the cardio aspect. Train bench. Dips dont have any real carry over to your bench press, ask any powerlifter. Band training will help too.

    I was able to get alot more reps in during my high rep training when taking anadrol, although i dont use any orals anymore. Tren killed it for me. Not sure if you are taking anything tho..

    Try this, its a bit long n drawn out but if you get your teeth in to it you will soon get to your max.

    Half your 1RM

    Bench once a week

    10 sets of 3 reps

    Hands shoulder width apart

    Nice and slow and controlled with a 2 second pause on the chest (just below your nipples).....

    Oh yeah almost forgot, add 2.5 - 5 kg each week.

    See how far you can go. my guess is you wont go much past 8 - 10 weeks of lifting before you reach your sticking point... but by then your 1RM will be much greater than it was 10 weeks prior.

    Im 3 weeks in to it and yeah... its gonna get hard the next 3 weeks or so.

    tell louie simmons that dips dont do jack, hes one of the best in the business.

    thanks everyone for ur help. I appericate it yes i did play 5 years i had to sit out a year because of surgery on knee but that was my soph year. Thanks a lot for ur support take care

    Are you kidding me? This guy is trying to start his career in the NFL and you are advising him to start it out by cheating?

    Do not take anything banned, work ur ass off at this thing, leave it all out on the field, and put ur head to bed at night knowing you haven't disgraced those who came before you....

    I didnt say they didnt do jack. I said they dont have much bench press carry-over. great for pec development tho. simmons would agree.
