Off Cycle duration

I read so many things about Cycle duration or what to take for PCT but never found something about the optimum duration of the Off Cycle.

What is the ideal duration someone should stay out of AS to start again his next Cycle and why?

Rule of thumb:
Time on = Time off
If you cycled for 12 weeks, then you must allow at least 12 weeks off to renew the receptors.

perfectly put ^^^ although some ppl get blood work done and if they show your levels are back to normal they start earlier but i would just stick to

time on = time off

Thanks for your reply.Actually i have heard this again but i would like to read something scientific about it.Do you have any sources?

Also i don't think a light cycle of 8 weeks needs the same off time with a heavy cycle of the same duration.
