P.S. I Love You...too fanciful for anyone who’s ever been a relationship to enjoy, but would great for pre and mid-teenagers that are still falsely idealistic. There are some good one liners and Lisa Kudrow always teases the screen. And Hillary Swank shows us some curves we didn't know she had!!!
In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale ...good if you like the medieval genre if not pass. But it’s always good to see stars do what they do best Jason Statham (The Transporter) smoothly translates kung fu to an older time, Ray Liotta is still evil, Leelee Sobieski is sexy tough, and Matthew Lillard (Norville 'Shaggy' Rogers) is as silly as ever.
First Sunday...not knee-slapping funny, but humorous throughout Cube is good, Tracy Morgan is typical, but Katt Williams steals the show and continues to shine brighter with each big screen appearance...if you like these guys you'll enjoy this one, if not pass.
One Missed Call...whack initially, then it gets pretty good, but never great. Following in the footsteps of its evil technologically fear inspired predecessors namely, The Ring (fear on VHS), and Fear.Com (fear on a website), this fear on a cell phone seemed like a logical progression.
Mad Money…very predictable, semi-funny, but with good chemistry.
Ahh the piece de resistance…Cloverfield:
Not to my recollection has a movie revealed so little and created so much buzz. Well this dizzying Blair Witch Project-esque shot movie (approx 80% is seen through a video recorder), begins with adolescent cliquish character/relationship development. It’s a boar until we find out exactly what’s terrorizing Manhattan, from that point on providing you don’t need Dramamine, the suspense and encounters of the young protagonists make for a decent movie. Honestly, though it’s rather whack!

COMING SOON NOTABLES:
“Doomsday” a movie set in the year 2033. Okay so the ever chaotic not so distant future theme has been overdone, but the female lead Rhona Mitra (from Hollow Man in a robe before the mirror) a personal favorite, looks as lovely as ever. Okay so it’s “Resident Evil” meets “Escape from New York”, with a hint of “Ultraviolet” and a dash of Mad Max…but I like her and the co-stars are no slouches.
