Pulled out needle and blood came dripping out

Hi,

I've injected myself somewhere between 30-50 times and I've also injected a friend the same amount and never had any issues with blood.

Today I stuck the needle in, pulled the plunger back and no blood. So I injected slowly and everything appeared to be fine. When I pulled the needle out, blood came rushing out all over my arm, pants and carpet.

The blood came out quick, I didn't lose that much, but it was a very significant flow for the 5 seconds or so it started bleeding. Then I stopped it, put a band aid on it and so far so good.

It's been about 2 hours, no pain or anything. I think I may have ripped a minor nerve when pulling the needle out but I am not 100% sure. Hence this thread.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

this just started happening to me continuously. its happened a few times in the past but its every delt injection now. i think the cause is that youve hit a vein. anybody else have input on this.

Im even suprised that its been 30-50 jabs since thats happened. With me it occurs 1 out of every 3 jabs, possibly 2.

I primarily inject into the delts on myself, specifically the medial deltoid. I have trouble injecting into the glutes and quads because I have a lot of varicose veins there. I alternate between the left and right one with every injection. This is the first time this has ever happened to me while injecting myself or my buddy so I had some concern and wanted to make this thread just to be sure it would be ok.

Almost every injection I give myself I rarely ever see any blood come out. The blood fills the hole and that's about it. Today was the exception and honestly something unexpected from my previous experiences.
