    You will not believe this......

Apparently Brian McNamee saved syringes that he used to inject Roger Clemens with steroids from 2000 and 2001. Experts say that steroids could still be detected after 7 to 8 years. McNamee stated that he kept the syringes in case it was ever questioned that Clemens used performance enhancers. If this doesnt sound like a huge attempt of blackmail on McNamee's part then i dont know what is.

It amazes me that someone would store something like that for 8 years for no other reason than to smear someone later. This kind of stuff pisses me off, regardless if Clemens did it or not. I bet if McNamee wouldnt have got caught by the fed's he would have used this evidence to extort money out of Clemens if he did infact inject him with steroids.

What amazes is that they're spending all this time, money, and energy for nothing. All they're doing is giving Clemens a bad name. Well, now it may be perjury, but still it's f'in pointless.

On a side note, can they prove that the syringes were used by Clemens? I mean I guess there might be blood on it, but is it a sure thing?

Even if they did find clemen's blood in the syringes, there is a whole string of custody issues. How can anyone be certain that McNamee didnt run a little bit of test through the syringe before he gave it over to the feds. I mean Clemens already admitted to having McNamee inject him with, Lidocaine and B-12. No matter how improbable that sounds It is not uncommen practice in sports for athletes to receive injections from trainers. He could have very well kept the syringes and then when the time had come to get some money out of someone then all he would have to do is run a little bit of test in the syringe and there is evidence enough to convict someone in the court of public opinion.

Good point, but the whole thing is still utterly ridiculous. It seriously boggles my mind.

On the ESPN ticker, it quoted McNamee's lawyers as saying that he kept the materials because he feared that someday clemens would deny using illicit drugs.

why give a guy drugs and help him use them, then 'fear' he wont later admit to it?

this issue is one that really pisses me off... i know Roger on a personal level and i have played baseball with his son for many years... if he really has saved sticks that he gave roger then that should say enough about this guys credibility... for some reason i think that this is a bluff trying to get roger to break...

This is a witchhunt, plain and simple. I want to see the Hollywood elite brought in and asked about their past and present drug use. What right does the Congress have to do this? Every athlete they bring in is being set-up to commit perjury. That's the only "gotcha" they have.

I like how the congressmen we are paying and elect to office are so worried about keep sports fair. Between hearings on steroids and the spy gate bullshit, I think our congress is missing the point of the job we elect them to do.

I just do not see how they can get this allowed by any judge. The seringes could have been contaminated after he injected Clemins. Just prosicuters making a name for them selfs. Its BS imo.
