    Low carb diet questions

Ive been on a low carb diet for the past week and feel pretty good. Ive lost about 8 lbs so far and have experienced no strength loss!

I'm eating around 300 grams of protein a day and around 70 grams of fat! I only take in about 55 grams of carbs on workout days which is 5 days a week after my workout. The other days i'm eating virtually no carbs and upping the protein to around 350 or so.

    So to my questions!

I take a mulit vitamin and vit e and c daily. Is this sufficient enough to get the vitamins im lacking from eating mostly lean meats and protein drinks?

Should I take in some carbs everyday or is only on workout days fine?

I have read some places where people have one day where they up the carbs higher. Should I consider this for at least one meal a week?

Just looking for some opinions or help on anyone who is low carb or has been in the past and what worked best for them.

    Thanks

You should definitely be taking vitamins. multis are good and the extra vitamin c will help. maybe throw in some complex b vitamins as well. your protein choices should be vast so you can incorporate a large number of different aminos in your diet.

you should be taking carbs pre and post workout. pre workout to actually fuel your workout, and post workout to help protein synthesis and blunt cortisol release. absolutely necessary in these two meals IMO.

it's called carb cycling, and you can do a search on it here to read threads on the topic. not a bad idea after a few days low carbing. it will help with fat loss and add a little boost to your strength maintenance.

eat more leafy greens, you dont get the full benefit of vitamins with supplementation only.

My diet is something like yours but with a little more carbs, on workout days 125-150 carbs non-workout days 70-90.

you don't want to get too low on carbs. remember, you will be growing on those rest days.

if you don't mind me asking. do you ever have a low carb day on a workout day? or do you do those strictly on non-workout days?
