Well it all depends on you daily macro consumption. However yes ideally you would like to get a Protein/Fat meal in there. Ideally a slow digesting protein like casein. I prefer to have my leanest form of meat PWO and the reciprocal as the last meal of the day.
Some things to consider, casein, cottage cheese, meat(with some fat), eggs. Some fat
Some things to avoid, whey protein.
Cottage cheese mixed with peanut butter is the ultimate late night meal .
how bout 5 egg whites with veggies?
As much pasta and Bread as you can possibly stuff down your throat
I like a mixture of slow and fast release protein shakes when I am bulking. I want to keep my amino acid pool full while I am in fasting mode.
fat free cottage cheese mixed with natural trail mix...no nuts with salt.
natural peanut butter, chicken breast, and cottage cheese.
It's digested quickly. At night you are a looking for a slow digesting meal. A slow digesting protein(casien), in combination with fat(flax, fish, pb), and fiber(gbeans, brocolli) is the ideal meal.
i usually eat a meal on my bed and past out,, only draw back i notice is having to clean the dish when i wake up
carbs in general are a bad idea before bed if your trying to shed weight, cottage cheese is the best imo.
if i take in alot of carbs before bed i feel like i don't sleep as well. that and i wake up starving, i could eat the a$$ end out of a horse for breakfast. Protein seems to keep me fuller, longer.

'a lot' of carbs isn't equal to 'carbs in general'.
Spiking your insulin levels high and then going to sleep... It's a no-brainer that you'd be very hungry in the morning.
This however holds little indication that 'carbs in general' are bad.
It simply denotes that piling a shitload in before bed, doesn't translate into feeling 100% in the morning.
That being said, I eat a high-carb cutting diet.
AND.. i consume carbs before bed.
I believe that keeping insulin levels at a stable level through-out the day keeps you leaner.
So I practice this on myself and my clients.
Nutrition is a 24-hour process.

everyone is different, correct.. i can not have peanut butter, it bloats me up, whenever i eat PB before bed i wake up the morning bloated, if i have whole eggs, i like to eat 5-6 at a time i love the fat, i wake up not as bloated.. unfortunately me andpeanut butter don't mix well, it's a shame because it tastes so good
i would be so pissed if i couldn't eat peanut butter.
