Carbs are pretty high for a cutting diet... I like mine less than 150.

Also I hear taking glutamine postworkout is not good as it fights for absorption with the whey peptides... which you want going in for sure. Take glutamine before cardio.

i'd throw in some more protein, and drop the cantaloupe. otherwise, it is ok.

    Meal 2:
    Whey protein shake Calories...260 Protein...46 Carbs...8 Fat...4

eat what you're eating for meal 5, here as well.

    Meal 3: (Pre Workout)
    Whey protein shake Calories...260 Protein...46 Carbs...8 Fat...4
    1/2 cup oatmeal Calories...150 Protein...5 Carbs...27 Fat...3
    1/2 banana Calories...60 Protein...1 Carbs...15 Fat...0

some do like the whey before a workout to get your amino profile up. you can do this if you want, but personally i eat whole foods preworkout. glad to see you have pro/carb here too.

    Meal 4: (Post Workout)
    Whey protein shake Calories...260 Protein...46 Carbs...8 Fat...6
    Ultra Fuel (Simple Carbs) Calories...200 Protein...0 Carbs...50 Fat...0
    5 grams of glutamine Calories...20 Protein...0 Carbs...0 Fat...0

    fine.

    Meal 5:
    8 oz. Chicken Breast Calories...375 Protein...70.5 Carbs...0 Fat..8
    1 cup of Spinach Calories...7 Protein...1 Carbs...1 Fat...0
    1 Tbsp Flax Oil Calories...110 Protein...0 Carbs...0 Fat...11
    2 Fish Oil Caps Calories...18 Protein...0 Carbs...0 Fat...2

ok, many like to have pro/carb meals "PPWO" not really a huge issue, but i would add a small carb source here, maybe a small serving of some potato with that chicken.

    Meal 6: (Pre Bed)
    Casein protein shake Calories...180 Protein...36 Carbs...6 Fat...1.5
    1 Tbsp Flax Oil Calories...110 Protein...0 Carbs...0 Fat...11
    2 Fish Oil Caps Calories...18 Protein...0 Carbs...0 Fat...2

    this will work.

    Totals - Calories...2409 Protein...275 Carbs...181 Fat...55
all in all, not bad. don't forget to monitor your progress every 2 weeks and make changes if necessary. some days you may want to lower the carbs and then raise them on others, just to keep your body in a constant state of change.

some do take glutamine before cardio, but if you want your body to use fat stores why give it potential energy? i'd say to just stay empty and that IMO.. glutamine is worthless.

Thanks for the feedback Nova. I appreciate the information.

What do you think about eating 6 more egg whites in Meal 2 rather than the chicken? Will that work?

Glutamine is worthless? A 4.5 gram serving has 19 calories in it... you can burn that in 1.5 minutes on the treadmill, easy. Obviously its not a carbohydrate or a fat so its not a preferred energy source for your body anyway. I'd rather use glutamine and spend an extra 1.5 minutes on the treadmill, and use it for its anti-catabolic properties than to go without.

yes i believe glutamine supplmentation is worthless. i've had countless discussions about it in the supplement forum. and by anticatabolic, you do realize that that could also be in reference to fat. no need to supplement glutamine at all, money would bemuch etter spent on BCAA's, which are proven to actually start protein synthesis, whichis exactly what one would want after a cardio or weight training session.
