    OK weird - shoulder injury doin curls

    Guys I was doing 21's with barbell curls - and during my mid 7 set (forehead to solar plexus curl) i popped something in my right shoulder...

    I cant even lift this laptop without it hurting. But what is weird is I wanted to see if I could still bench/shoulderpress and I can. I just did a few reps with some heavy dumbells and was able to complete both.

    What the heck did I do?

    Also my treatment last night was ibuprpofen and heat for 2 hours - then a heat patch overnight.

    Should I ice today? Or more heat?

    Most probably it is the long head of the bicep tendon. It is the more common of the two heads that is injured. It is a long broad thin tendon and is relatively easy to injure.

    depends on how injured it is, If it persist it wouldnt be a bad idea to see your doc or chiro about it. The funny thing about bicep tears is that they only hurt for awhile.

    whats weird is the pain is kinda high for me to think bicep

    but i did it doing curls - which logic would agree with u

    ill pound the heat and advil

    The tendon of the long head of the bicep passes through the shoulder joint.

    I am going to think you are right simply because I can bench and do shoulder presses.

    The only thing that hurts my shoulder is curls....

    How long rehab u think?

    Not really sure it depends on how bad it is. If it hasnt balled up in your arm then it leads me to believe that its not completely torn. I am not a doctor so take what I say as advice only. If you feel the need go see your doc of course.
