    Do you weigh your food?

I've started wei***ng out my food. If you weigh your food, do you do so before or after cooking? I noticed that most foods weigh a lot less after being cooked.. ?

I just started wei***ng my meats. Food tables dont specify...they just say 3oz or 6oz, whatever. I noticed the same thing...my chicken looses nearly 2oz when cooked, be it fat or water. Red meat looses a little less, but bump for curiosity sake? Before or after for proper food values...hmmm

I've been wei***ng my food for a couple of years now... I always take the "raw" weight if I'm cooking from scratch... more consistent that way
