    Lower section of abs...help

Ok, i have some good help from people in the diet forum, particularly Nova (gotta give him props). None the less, i think i'm just being over anxious.

I have cut pretty nicely and quickly as well. The top portion of my abs are starting to come through, but my bottom portion is still covered by a thin layer of fat.

Its been like that for about 2 weeks now and it seems as though its not going ANYWHERE. My diet is clean, and i work out my abs twice a week. Is this something that will just come in time? I mean i know this section is the LAST section to go and its the hardest, but i'm getting restless haha.

Anyone with any experience with this, please chime in. I'm just assuming with me doing my cardio 6x a week at 45-60 minutes per session at 60% of my max heart rate, it will eventually go, but i just want to know if there is anything i can tweak to accelerate the process i guess.

    Thanks.

Not really anything extra you can do. You cant really spot train, once you start getting into the single digit bodyfat % it becomes harder to see noticable reduction because your margin for loss is much smaller. Just keep doing what your doing and be patient and I am sure you will achieve your goes. Good luck bro.....

P.S. you are still training with weights right?

Like muscle science said, there isnt much you can do. I had the same damn problem. Just keep at it and you will notice the difference. If you really want to notice a difference then take a pic of your abs every monday, you'll see the change that way. Good luck

I train with weights only 3 times a week. I hit everything but my legs. I know i know, i should do legs too but dude, running an average of 50 minutes a day for 6 days a week takes a toll on my legs as it is. Sometimes its hard for me to walk up the stairs at night haha. Pu$$y (meaning myself).

I kind of figured i had to just do what i am doing and it will eventually come. I figure i'm about 12% bf right now. I want to get around 9 before i started anything.

I should have mentioned, i have var lined up in a week. I'm sure this will help as well get me down there right? (As stated i wanted to be single digits when i started it but i dont know if thats gonig to happen within 2 weeks).

Muscle Science hit the nail on the head. For good measure I would focus on reverse crunches (use a decline bench) to build the lower section of the abdominals.

Ok i do crunches on a decline bench but when you say reverse, do you mean basically working the NEGATIVES? Like when i am sitting up at a 90 degree angle and go BACKWARDS, is that the reverse crunch? Thats the ONLY exercise i feel that kills the lower section of my abs, and i love it!

this my problem area also. you cant get the lower abbs without a really low bf. in males this is where we generally store the majority of our excess fat on our lower stomach/lovehandles. ill pass along some advice someone gave to me, since i havnt emplented it yet idk if it works. that is to switch your cardio to include more sprints and focus more on the fluctuation of your heart rate, up-down, rather than a steady base. imo this area will never be obtaind with out single digit bf percentage.

If you haven't already, include leg raises in your abs workout because they work the lower abs.

Man, you have to do legs! I am also running 60+ minutes a day, and doing karate to boot! I'll also garantee that I am fatter than you are! LOL I solved the leg soreness problem by focusing on power while leg training. Keep you reps low on the squat and limit your auxilary leg training. I often do squats, then 60 min. on the eliptical back to back.
