My buddy is a COP! Oh sh$#

I'm looking for some advice to give my best friend. He has been taking gear on and off the past 7 years 2 -3 12 week cycles a year nothing major. He asked me if i thought they would give him a random steroid test. My response was probally not if you do get randomed it will probally be for recreational drugs like coke, pot. pills ect. i also told him my good friend works as a correctional officer and he has been randomed 3 times while he was in the middle of taking 1,500 milligrams of test and 100mg of anadrol and still passed. I told also to relax, do his job correctly, don't give anyone an attitude or bash anyones head on the concrete and not to tell anyone and that he'll be fine.

Anyone elses opinion is greatly appreciated.

btw, my friend starts in 3 weeks in a city of about 15,000 and i think their are 25 guys on the force as patrol men.

should be good, but keep in mind it is a hot topic, "cops on roids" right now and there is no telling how far it will go. so i think that he is fine now where in a year or so could be more risky if the topic catches on via the MLB.

I agree i told him do your job correctly, dont have any rage issues, gain weight slowly not 30 lbs. in 2 months, and MOST importantly stay covered up in the gym and under no circumstance tell no one not even his wife.

i dont think he has to be that worried about it i know alot of cops personally that are on or have been done gear, but then again i live in a small town and cops are alot "cooler" b/c they are usually kids you went to school with or played ball against. imo cops should be allowed/incouraged to juice b/c of the physical risk of their jobs

Dept's don't test for steroids just recreational drugs. But I would reccomend he get the stuff legally for obvious reasons.

btw i told him to wait untill he atleast finishes the academy and if at all possible wait until his year probation is up before he starts.

ask him if its worth his livelihood to use steroids. if his life and well being (job, wife, kids, career, money) mean anything to him, he should clean up.

good advice i told him this as well but he said< "easier said than done." He talked about everyone having their evil's from president down to your drug dealer on the steet. He also talked about how government officals are doing drugs, sleeping with prostitutes, and stealing money. This is why he doesn't feel bad doing it especially since this is the only evil he has. lol

Teachers, gov. officals, cops, fire-fighters, ect...the key is to keep quite and tell no one, under no circumstances get the gear for others, don't show off, and do you job correctly at work. I think if you follow these guidlines your chances of getting busted or caught can be reduced. Often times the ones who do get busted are the ones who brag and tell people and the ones deal gear as well. Do you all agree????

Yes being a cop I agree but he is not the kind of guy I would want to work with. If he lies and can justify comitting a felony, what else will he lie about???

i always viewed the job of a cop a moral thing. I mean, yea you bust people for breaking laws, but the main things if to serve and protect. These laws are in place to protect the people (most of them, anyway). I dont think lying about doing steroids is so bad, he is harming no one, it is not immoral, and may actually aid him in his work. I would not mind working with someone who is like that. I would feel better having him as a partner, in fact. Then again, im not a cop.

Good post, thank you. I had a real moral problem with breaking the law no matter how stupid I think roid laws are and thats why I got a script. But I am not going to judge the guy might turn out to be a great LEO.

Its a worthless random fact on my part.
But my old PO (parole officer) said that at least 60% of the cops at the academy had done juice at some point in their life.
Not sure where he got his figure from but he was a really cool knowledgable guy, not even sure if it applies here because I didn't read the op in its entirety. =]

Granted all these people might not be in position to enforce laws it puts things in perspective that no one is perfect.

I don't think he is doing anything wrong. The legality of things changes so frequently it's ridiculous anyway. I mean ****, slavery used to be legal, and people thought it was perfectly fine. Legal issues just like religious issues are trends that will change time and time again. I think people thought follow morals, rather than bullshit laws are the ones society should look up to.

wait, no. that's dumber than hell. its is not easier said then done. tell him to write down everything that is important to him. now have him start scratching things off the list until he has 2 left. tell him to try and live a day without any of the things on his list except the two that are left. granted his life may not be that bad off if he gets caught, yet he should still realize that HIS ACTIONS AND HIS CHOICES can impact all of that and it is very easy to determine what is important. remind him what he can gain from this job contrasted against what he will gain from a cycle. and i doubt its your friend who's going through this.
