We have done everything together (normal stuff like hang out, party, vacation, and let the kids play) for the last 10 years....

Now I think they are eyeing us like a meat patty everytime we are together...we like them as friends but damn.....things have changed overnight....

She is OK, but we are afraid that other people will associate us with that type of lifestyle and it will effect us and our kids negatively... my wife and I are both business professionals with an extensive network of "normal" friends. Am I too old fashioned in this thinking....

We don't care what people do in their free time, but I consider this to be well, weird?

Of course if something happened and we got to nail each other one night that is one thing, but in the long haul, how would you guys handle the situation?

graciously exit. whether or not you are participating you will be guilty by association. evaluate your friendship and choose if it is worth you/family to be stuck with the stigma. i would personally retain a good friendship but may not go on vacation or to their house everynight. keep it casual. it may get wired if they ask, then what will you say.

Actually, it reminds me of a similar situation I had in the military. I thought the Chief was just being nice by inviting me over for Sunday dinner. Turns out he wanted me to bone his wife while he watched. Told him I respected his lifestyle choice, but wasn't my cup of tea and he'd have no worries 'cause no one would find out. Shook hands and that was that. Even had a few more Sunday dinners after that without any awkwardness.

If it's out in the open and you acknowledge it, then it's no longer the 900 lb. gorilla in the corner of the room. If you enjoy them as friends, then you should be able to continue doing so.

lol, something similiar happen to a friend of mine. my fiend is like 150lbs and has a smoking gf and they go partying with another couple they know well. well to make a long story short the husband of the other couple is like 6'4 250lbs and he ends up drunk as hell naked trying to convince my bud to "swing" aka trade girls for the night.
