    Places In America

Nature wise and adventurous wise. I am trying to plan out some trips.

What my list looks like so far: (no particular order)

-Alaska: Aurora Borealis, glaciers, wildlife, and eventually climb Mt. McKinley

    -Yellowstone

    -Yosemite

    -Angels Landing (Zion National Park)

    -Grand Canyon

What are some others? Maybe places you've been or want to go. Things to do.

I was raised up around Yellowstone. Pretty expensive and touristy during the summer months, with lots of old Japanese people passing through on group tours, but otherwise really scenic. The best time to go is in winter, when the only way you can see the park is by snowmobile. Not very many people, it's cold as fvck, and the buffalo are everywhere - COOL!

The Grand Tetons are just south of Yellowstone. They're beautiful and you can take a tram up year round from Teton Village.

Lake Redfish in central Idaho, just south of Stanley is incredible. It's right up in the Sawtooths, which are some of the most beautiful mountains you'll ever see. About 30 miles south is Sun Valley and Ketchum, where Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, John Kerry, and other rich people have vacation homes. It's a nice town, but full of snooty rich people.

Glacier National park in northwest Montana is nice. The Idaho panhandle is gorgeous - Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint are nice towns. Lake Pend O'Reille has a U.S. Navy submarine research station there because of the extreme depth. There's also a great German restaurant (owned and operated by a very friendly old German couple and their children, who all became German chefs) next to the lake that has the best potato pancakes (grandma's secret recipe?) and the ubertasty Dortmunder Union draft beer.

Torch Lake in Michigan. 2nd most beautiful lake in the world according to National Geographic magazine.

I'm there a few times during the summer and it's a blast plus the water is just as clear/blue as when I've been to the Caribbean.
