I need some help with how to edit/cut out video scenes PLEASE.

I can do ANYTHING with sound engineering so if anyone ever needs a song, theme, something remixed let me know. I have sick skills with audio.

BUT, I use EXPENSIVE programs I've paid for.

What I need is something free where I can do this-
You know the movie "Crash"?

I want to cut out the cop scene where he fondles the black lady, than later on when he saves her from burning to death in the car. Its for a presentation on Law & Sexism.
But my questions are:
Can I do this w/out renting the DVD? I don't want to run into a problem with like copyright locks on the video.
And does anyone know any free but good programs for doing this?

When I got into audio engineering I realized the best ones were the ones I had to pay for. But I needed them for *complex editing.
All I need is to cut out 2 scenes.

Any recommended software would really be appreciated. I know I can go to download.com but I get too much junk from that place. Thanks guys.

K can SOMEONE please show me where I can d/load this movie than?

Not just watch it but I need the file to cut up so I can do it myself, just can't figure out where to get it, limewire doesn't have it and thats all I use.

Any help I'd really appreciate.
