    Question Shoulder pain when benching

Have an issue looking for some advice. My stats are 32/219/12%. I have been lifting serious for a little over 2 years and i am in the middle of my first cycle of test enth 300 mg wk. I get this shoulder pain whenever my flat bench gets over 300lbs or my incline gets over 220lbs. It is right on the vary tip of my shoulder, and no matter how long i warm up for i still have this issue. Good sense would tell me not to continue to go heavy but thats just not going to work. Any advice?

Try db instead of bb. I find the bb too strict of movement so unless you have really good width for your body you might put a strain on your shoulders.

db allows you for more movement, therefore your chest does most of the work without the strain on your shoulders IMO.

Thanks, I've even added some isometric machines into my routine that has seemed to help a little. Thanks for the input!

Flat Bench press is no longer reveered as the overall best chest exercise for over all development,WITH HEAVY WEIGHT ANYWAY.I'd use the isolate or smith machines without going all the way down.Going all the way down and touchiong your chest if that's what you do is most likely the culprit in your shoulder pain because your incorporating too much front delt.Check the ego at the door and train smarter not harder.Try doing incline first without going all the way down and then follow that with bench press smith machine presses, then 2 fly movements like cable cross overs and incline fly's.

I have been incorporating the isometric machines over the last couple of weeks and it seems to be helping. Have been doing the cable flyes from two different angles. Thanks for the advice. EGO adjustment has been made being hurt sucks and you would think it would be common sense but sometimes your ego gets a hold of you! Thanks.
